It’s so easy to make tzatziki yourself, and you can control your ingredients and flavours. In my case, it’s the only way I can eat it because I need to use lactose-free yogurt.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup grated cucumber
- 1 leaves of fresh mint, very finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Preparation
- Squeeze grated cucumber in a clean towel to remove excess water. Put in a bowl and add all other ingredients. Stir well.
Tips
- Letting the sauce sit for a while before serving will help develop all the flavours.
- Omit the garlic and you also have a pretty decent raita for when you’re having Indian food.
