Oven fries are so tasty, and it’s as easy to make them yourself as it is to buy them frozen. You can prep them in the time it takes to preheat your oven, and season them up however you like, or to complement the other flavours in your meal.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4-6 people
Ingredients
- 4-6 medium sized potatoes
- 3 Tbsp of Olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp chilli powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 425F.
- Peel potatoes and cut into 1/2″ thick pieces. Place in a large bowl, and pour in olive oil. Add garlic powder, chilli powder, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well, so everything is well coated. (Your hands work really well for this.)
- Spread the potatoes out in a single layer on a baking sheet without overcrowding them. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until starting to brown.
Tips
- These cook really nicely on a baking stone, if you have one.
- Lining your metal baking sheet with parchment will help protect the surface and makes for easier clean up. The parchment will also soak up any excess oil.
